What “No Contract” Means in This Industry

What You Are Actually Avoiding

Heating oil delivery is one of the few residential services where the standard industry model is a multi-year agreement with auto-billing, auto-delivery, and an early termination fee. Sign up in October, get four to six deliveries through the season, get charged the company's "market average" rate on every drop, get a renewal letter in August.

No contract heating oil delivery skips all of that. There is no signed agreement, there is no card on file, there is no enrollment process, there is no renewal. Every order stands alone. You can order one tank of oil from us in your entire life and we never send you a follow-up letter.

Specifically, what you do not have to do at Domino Fuel:

  • Sign an annual or multi-year delivery agreement
  • Enroll in automatic delivery based on a degree-day formula
  • Put a card on file or set up ACH for recurring billing
  • Pay an early termination fee to switch heating oil delivery companies
  • Receive a renewal letter every summer offering a "locked in" rate
  • Accept a budget plan that smooths out the price across twelve months

How Will-Call Works

How No Contract Heating Oil Delivery Actually Operates

Will-call means you call when you want oil. Three steps, one phone call, complete control over when the next drop arrives.

Watch your tank gauge

Will-call puts the gauge in your hands. Most residential oil tanks have a float gauge on top that reads from F down to E. When you are at one-quarter or below, it is time to call.

Call 631-779-3196

One phone call. Address, gallons (25 minimum), and that is the whole conversation. No account number, no PIN, no portal login.

Truck arrives same day

A Domino Fuel driver shows up the same day, fills the tank, hands you a receipt, takes payment per delivery. Until the next time you watch the gauge drop, we are out of your hair.

Why No Contract Wins

Why Will-Call Customers Pay Attention to the Price

No price-lock games

Contract customers often get a "locked in" rate that looks great in October and bad in February. Will-call customers pay the market rate on the day they order. Some weeks that is higher, some weeks that is lower. Over a season it tends to even out.

Full control over timing

Going away for a month? Skip the oil. Tank topped off because the weather was mild? Skip the oil. The schedule is yours, not a delivery algorithm at a company you have never met.

25 gallon minimum, not 150

Most heating oil delivery companies on Long Island require a 100 to 150 gallon order. We will deliver as little as 25. If 25 is what your budget allows this week, that is what we deliver, and we will be back when you call again.

No early termination cost

You cannot "leave" us, because you never joined. If you find a better will-call company next year, you do not owe us a termination fee. That alone is a feature.

No card on file

Payment is taken either as a credit card over the phone or cash at the time of delivery. Nothing about your payment information lives in our system after the truck leaves.

No paperwork in the mail

No renewal letter, no annual statement, no marketing about the next budget plan. The mail you get from Domino Fuel is exactly the mail you choose to get, which is none unless you specifically ask.

The Customer Decides How Often We Show Up

Some Domino Fuel will-call customers call us once and never again. They were a one-time emergency runout, or they were tiding over a season while switching to gas, or the house was about to be sold. We delivered the oil and we were done. We did not chase them.

Some customers call every six weeks for thirty years. They watch the gauge, they know the math on their burn rate, they order another 100 gallons in the same rhythm year after year. We have customers in this category whose grandparents were customers in this category. The will-call model works because the customer is in charge of the schedule.

The thing that ties the two together is that nothing was ever automatic. Every order, including the thirty-year customer's most recent one, was a deliberate phone call.

The 25 Gallon Minimum

Why 25 Gallons Is the Floor, Not 150

Most heating oil delivery companies set their minimum at 100 or 150 gallons. The reasoning is operational. The truck rolls, the driver burns time, the route burns fuel, the office handles the order. A 25 gallon stop is barely worth the fuel to get there. We know.

We still take 25 gallon orders. We have since 1981. Sometimes a household genuinely cannot afford 150 gallons that week and a 25 gallon delivery is what gets them through the next two weeks until the next paycheck. Walking away from those calls would have been the bigger operational mistake. Forty-five years of taking those calls is part of why the phone rings the way it does.

If you order 200 gallons, we deliver 200 gallons. If you order 25, we deliver 25. The minimum is a floor, not a target.

Pricing

What No Contract Heating Oil Costs

The price you hear when you call is the price you pay per delivery. That is the entire pricing model.

Market rate, day of order

Heating oil prices change daily. The rate you hear on the phone reflects the current market on the day you order. We do not average, smooth, or game the number.

Full price on the call

Per-gallon rate and order total, given verbally on the phone before we hang up. You decide whether to proceed with the full price in front of you.

No add-ons in the bill

The number on the receipt matches the number we said on the phone, every time.

No Contract Oil FAQ

Will-Call Heating Oil Questions

It means no annual agreement, no auto-delivery enrollment, no signup paperwork, and no card on file for future deliveries. Every order is its own transaction. We will deliver to you one time or one hundred times, and neither of those numbers is committed in advance.

No. We do not run a degree-day formula on your address to predict when you will need oil. The next delivery happens when you call us. That is the entire schedule.

Will-call is the industry term for the model we use: the customer calls when they want a delivery, and the delivery happens after that call. It is the opposite of automatic delivery, where the company decides the schedule based on weather and a formula.

25 gallons. Most heating oil delivery companies require 100 to 150 gallons even for one-time orders. We will deliver 25.

Sometimes, in mild winters, contract customers do save a few cents per gallon over the season. In harsh winters, the "locked in" contract rate often ends up higher than the spot market. No-contract customers pay the market rate on the day of the order, which is more transparent if not always cheaper.

You do not. There is nothing to cancel because there is nothing to sign. If you never call us again, the relationship simply ends with the most recent delivery.

One Call. Oil Today. Nothing Follows.

No annual agreement, no auto-delivery, no card on file. One phone call gets a Domino Fuel will-call delivery on the way, with nothing on the calendar after it.
